First if you’re wondering what “The Reflective Series” is, click here for the long explanation of what this is and you’re in for a treat for series two; the beginning journey of McKinlee Harper.

As mentioned before, our latest unexpected blessing is absolutely from the Lord: our sweet dear Baby H. In our own plans we wanted to wait to have children for about three years and little did we know that GOD had a tad bit different of a timeline: a timeline of four months. I’d be a complete liar if I said I wasn’t selfishly upset at the more than kink the Lord’s plan was putting into our plans; after all my organized, over cautious self wanted time to travel with Justin without children, experience life as a married couple, and last but definitely not least, I wanted time to financially prepare. But after buckets of tears from the emotional shock, fear, uncertainty and panic, my heart set me back on track of the important things above.
I always feared we would not be able to have children.
God clearly and quickly erased that fear.
I’ve heard stories and know people personally who have tried to have children for years, but couldn’t,
God miraculously gave us a child past the use of modern medicine when we weren’t even trying.
My insecurities have been fighting through to tell me I am not going to be an adequate mom.
God never gives us more than we can handle, so I know He is up to something great.
So after the Spirit settled my fears and brought great comfort, we have become nothing but excited for our gift from above to enter this world. We have showered Baby H with prayers after prayers and thankfully each doctor’s appointment has been full of positive feedback and our baby is growing and HEALTHY. At the last appointment Baby H and I received anatomy scans checking for any dangers or worries, and in the meantime we found out the gender! Of course there was unreal anticipation to know and yesterday we had a gender reveal party with family and close friends. I am 19 weeks and 2 days, almost halfway there.
(If any of my students are reading this….. here is the information you’ve been wanting to know and the pictures you’ve waited to see)
